Horrible quality

Never buy a GE profile product! I bought a GE profile dishwasher and then a year later I bought the stove. The dishwasher broke shortly over a year and kept falling apart after that even more this oven has now fell to work when I only had it just about two years GE does nothing to stand by the products. All they say is did you buy the extended warranty? I highly recommend never buying a GE profile product again and they don™™t try and help you. So they obviously don™™t stand by their products.

Pluses and Minuses for Gas Range

On the plus side, it heats up quickly. But front panel of range becomes hot whenever oven is hot (not particularly safe). I wish front panel buttons had back lighting so easier to read. AND when using the timer only the timer info shows up on panel - it should also list the oven temp if being used, or clock if oven not used (my old Samsung range included these 2 data points - i much preferred that).

It's a basic range for the price. Everything seems to work great. The griddle is very rough in texture and is impossible to clean without leaving lint and residue. There is a vent in the back that is flimsy and will bend with one wrong push. Overall its an improvement over what I had and looks much better.

Most everything is working just fine but be forewarned that the griddle rusts! I left a large pot on top to dry overnight and lift it up to find rust stains and they won™™t come out. Any time some water get on it I have to wipe it right away. That™™s not right.

If you are looking for value priced, good looking, functional gas stove well here you go. I love this stove and even though it's basic it is still far and away a great value stove. I love the griddle too. It's big enough to do pancakes, sandwiches, eggs etc. The knobs operate smoothly and burners adjust the flame well. I really can't find any flaws with this model. Oh yeah I could have spent more but for me this stove fits my needs and then some. Trust me you will be happy I am. Good job GE

I have had this range for about three weeks, and I have really worked it over. We had been eating out for nearly a month while we renovated our house. So, in the last several weeks, I have had a change to make a wide range of foods including baking homemade bread (the first thing I do in a new home), making biscuits, and cooking vegetables, meats, and even soup. It works amazing. I get very consistent results, even heating, and the oven works amazing.

The oven does not cook properly. I had a service man look at it and he said the entire heating element is located in the back of the oven. The heat does not circulate so you have to continuously rotate dishes or they™™re brown on one side and not the other. Very dissatisfied. My 30 year old gas oven performed better.

This oven has a MASSIVE design flaw. When the oven is on the entire front control panel where the knobs are gets so hot that it is a fire and burn hazard. I have a toddler and this is extremely dangerous. Very upset that I paid $900 for an oven that is a danger to me and my family.

Very nice unit. Burner layout is very good. the edge to edge design allows for large pots. So far it works as advertised. I checked the temperature consistency of the oven and it was rock solid. I had to get rid of my last range because the temperature varied to extremes and it made cooking impossible. Food came out raw or burnt. Very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased this gas GE range in December 2025 based on its well-established brand, some of its advertised features and its classy modern looks. But I am definitely disappointed in the quality of this specific range's parts & performance. Now, let's it break it down as I rate it: ON appearance/LOOKS: score of 4.6 out of 5 On features: score of 4.3 out of 5 On Performance: score of 3.9 out 5 On Value: score of 4.1 out of 5 On quality of its features that includes but not limited to its 5 burners & large integrated griddle: score of 3.8 out of 5. This gas range's integrated large Griddle is advertised as being made of non-stick Aluminum material, which looks fancy when it's new. But it is only to deceive the customer because after 1-2 uses, my purchased gas range griddle's color severely changed to orange & brownish spots including some of its aluminum material flaking off. Some parts of it looks like even rust underneath the original coating of this griddle. Additionally, 2 OUT 5 of this gas range's burners MALFUNCTION as each has DELAYED IGNITION which is potentially dangerous due to the unnecessary/excessive amount of gas built up before those 2 burners ignite. I discovered thru online research/resources, that this gas range burners' delayed ignition is caused by port blockage and/or weak grounding including Electrode sitting during the manufacturing process of the range by the manufacturer, which further indicates poorly manufactured gas range. BOTTOM LINE, FOR A GENERAL ELECTRIC (GE) GAS RANGE which its regular ADVERTISED retail asking price WITHOUT any discount is about $1350, BUT YET BEING DISCOUNTED TO $899 on GE website & at HOME Depot's website then one should really proceed with caution if you truly want to waste your money on it when one can find a better gas range of a different BRAND. Whether one pays $899 or $1350 for this specific brand gas range, it definitely DOES NOT meet quality & performance expectations. I REGRET THAT I EVER BOUGHT IT.

I love my new ge stove. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with is the black stove top for cleaning. If something spills oven or even just splashes on it, it is very hard to get off. Even if I clean it as soon as it spills. I wish you could come up with a better solution for that. I like to keep it looking new as long as possible. Other than that. I love everything about it.

BURNER ISSUES

Getting Burned 12/16/2025

CASE CLOSED. UPDATE 12/16: After a lot of back and forth and accusations that my gas pressure was bad the stove has been fixed. HOWEVER, due to these accusations from Bodewell I had to fork over some dough to get my pressure checked which, as it turned out, was completely unnecessary. THE STOVE HAD COME FROM THE FACTORY SET UP FOR PROPANE! How did anyone from GE, Appliance Factory, Bodewell, or Brand Source not know this! GE has offered us nothing as compensation for our troubles. I HAVE UPDATED MY STAR RATING BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE AND THE APPLIANCE ITSELF. UPDATE 12/03: After a visit from a Bodewell technician he concluded that I should have been provided with a replacement stove from GE in conjunction with the seller. He stated that he had never seen a problem like this and that there may be a main line in the stove that was kinked/creased. He agreed that the flames were very low and appeared to look like the low setting even though the knobs were set on high. Once again we contacted Appliance Factory and are awaiting a resolution offer. UPDATE 12/01: GE Approved replacing the regulator which overall made things worse. It now takes 18 minutes for the stove to heat up to 350. It took over 30 minutes to bring 3" of water to a boil ON THE "POWER" BURNER!! The flames on this stove are horrible!!! The flames on the large burner are still not filling in completely. At the low setting the flames are not even visible!! DO NOT BUY THIS STOVE OR ANY GE APPLIANCE. JUNK!! THE GIF VIDEO/SLIDES EMBEDDED ON THE PRODUCT PAGE ADVERTISE THE FLAMES AT A MUCH HIGHER LEVEL THEN THE ACTUAL STOVE BURNERS! The repairman said this is a typical GE appliance and did not give GE a glowing review!!! I will say that the oven seems to be operating correctly but once again takes forever to heat up. END OF 12/01 UPDATE....Purchased this stove at Appliance Factory on Nov. 6, 25. It was installed Nov. 10. We immediately noticed the burner flame height was way off. The installers said to contact Appliance Factory which we did. A technician is going to replace the larger burner as it is defective but needs to order the parts. So far we have not heard from him. All of the other burners in our opinion are also defective but he said there is no way to adjust the flames!! The flames are to low. On the lowest level for each one it is extremely easy to blow them completely out. On the high setting the flames barely come level with the burner cap. It took 20 minutes to bring 1" of water to boil in a small saucepan on the front right burner!!! If he continues to say there is no way to adjust these flames we will be returning this stove. In addition I just tested the preheat and it took 13 1/2 minutes to heat up to 350 NOT the 7 minutes that is advertised. Also there are water spots on the finish of one of the burner caps that will not come off.

Oven and stovetop materials feel of good quality and durable. We like that the burner controls lock into the off position so there are not easily turned on if bumped into. Both the oven and stovetop feel spacious.. The center grill plate is so convenient.

GE500 Gas Range

The burners all have a true low, which is very nice for simmer, but I don't like the controls on the front. With my last range those controls melted due to the high heat from the oven. I love that the knobs are metal. I also do not like that the panel does not light up. It's very dark and I have to use a flashlight to see what I'm doing when it's dark outside, even with my kitchen lights on. The oven is a nice size but wish it came with one of the racks was a dropped rack. I thought I bought the oven with convection but didn't. However, all gas ranges should have a fan for even heating. I have to turn my dishes half way through cooking to ensure even cooking and no overcooking on one side.
