Great product! We have had this about 2 months now, and it is in our basement. We have a hose attached which drains down to a drain in our basement floor. Working great through many days of humid weather. We like the Smart Dry feature. Easy to understand instructions. Most important it has been reliable.

I really wanted to like this dehumidifier. They look nice, have good features, are relatively quiet, but they fail quickly. I am on the third unit in 3 years - one ran 2 years and the second not even one year. We live in a small house - 960 sq. ft with a basement. The basement is dry, block walls, smooth concrete floor, clean and in good shape, and not a high moisture environment- half is a carpeted family TV room. The basement humidity is about 55-58% without dehumidifying. I want to reduce it to 45%, which doesn't seem to be asking too much. The first unit kept giving an E6 error code. Tried all of the troubleshooting fixes and nothing corrected it. The second unit worked well for 3 months, then started running for hours (just the fan) but removed no water at all. Again - I tried all of the troubleshooting fixes and nothing worked. On the plus side, Best Buy is very good about honoring the warranty.

I have learned a long time ago, GE makes the best dehumidifiers. The new one I just purchased, I have controlling humidity in a room where a high end Martin guitar is stored. I set the target humidity on appliance and the humidity gauge I have located in the room matches it within a few % numbers. For example: it is set at 50% and the gauge is reading 51% and still going down. I have tried other brands only to come back to GE as they just make a solid appliance that actually does what it is described to do. Thank you GE!! Ed Foreman

A Summer Savior.

This dehumidifier saved us in the basement in the summer time. As our washer and dryer are in the basement and it™€™s hard to put a AC unit down there this unit helped keep ALOT of moisture out which helped to cool it down some. It was very easy to install and small enough where it could be tucked into a corner. The unit was not noisy and barely noticeable.

Amazed by the amount of moisture in the air!!!

The GE dehumidifier works better than I ever imagined. The first day I used it, I set it to 40%. I had to empty it within 24 hours. It will stop running and it will light up letting you know it is full. There is a convenient handle so you can carry the reservoir without it spilling. I find it works a lot better at 65%, you don™€™t have to empty as much, but keep an eye on it, because the reservoir still fills up pretty quick. There are 4 different settings, including ™€œsmart dry™€ which is probably best to use. A bonus feature is the extra outlet on the back so you can plug something into it.

This dehumidifier works great, and the durability is very good. It removes 35 pints of moisture per day, the first 48 to 72 hours it will be more. It has smart dry, which adjusts the fan speeds based on the humidity levels. It is easily moved from room to room. It also has an empty bucket alarm and filter cleaner reminder. The noise level is very minimal, and it is very energy efficient.

Set us was a breeze, absolutely foolproof. But, it is NOISY!! uncomfortably so. No matter the setting, humidity in our room never dipped below 45, and it made no difference in temperature. It honestly only made a whole lot of noise. We ran it every night for a month, in our room 2-3 hours before bed in hopes of a little extra cooling, and the only difference we saw was the $25 increase in our electric bill.

A Dehumidifier to love!

A Dehumidifier that does it job! Have it in a room close to a main big bathroom and in a couple of hours it has collected a good amount of water. It™€™s rectangular shape, compact size and casters makes it great to take and fit anywhere in your space. It can be a bit noisy when working but we just take it as a good black noise machine. The water collects in a ™€œbucket™€ located on the front so access and removal of the liquid goes pretty quick and easy; once it™€™s full the machine will shut off so there™€™s no danger of overflow.
